Melon Gum

Melon Gum is Pure Instinto’s Bubblegum x Lavender cross, made to give the fruity, sweet side of those genetics a more productive finish without dragging out the flowering time. It’s available as feminised seeds and is an indica-dominant photoperiod strain with a practical 50–55 day bloom.

The flavour is the bit most people notice first. Melon Gum has a pronounced fruity aroma with sweet berry notes, melon and a strawberry chewing gum edge. Terpinolene is listed as the key terpene, which fits the bright, fragrant character rather than a heavy earth or fuel profile.

THC is listed at 18–21%, so this is not a mild, background sort of smoke. The effect is described as relaxing and body-led, with a warm physical feel, while still leaving room for creativity for some users. It’s also noted for easing tension, and the breeder-style notes put particular emphasis on its sensual, mood-lifting side when used in moderation.

In the grow room, Melon Gum is aimed at indoor and outdoor cultivation and keeps to a medium-sized structure. The flowering time is short at 50–55 days, with reported yields of 400–450 g/m² indoors and 500–850 g per plant outdoors. The plants can show attractive blue, red and black hues, with sticky white resin adding to the bag appeal.

This is not presented as the easiest strain for complete beginners. Melon Gum is not resistant to moulds, fungi and disease, so it suits growers who already have the basics dialled in and can keep an eye on airflow, cleanliness and general plant health. For a grower after a quick, sweet, resinous Bubblegum x Lavender line with decent production, it has a clear place on the shortlist.
