Arcana Collective

Arcana Collective might be a relatively new name on the cannabis seed scene, but the people behind it are about as far from newcomers as you could possibly get!

The Collective brings together some genuinely legendary figures from cannabis history including Chemdog, Josh D, OG Ghost, Ras Kaya Paul, Suny Cheba and Rev Fuji. Between them they’ve been involved with genetics such as Chem 91, Chem D, Ghost OG, OG Kush, Koffee, Black Cherry and Kurple Fantasy, with several of these becoming building blocks for an enormous number of modern strains.

Rather than simply trading on those famous names, Arcana was created to preserve important old genetics while using them to produce something new. Their breeding takes place at their appropriately named Ghost Town facility in Washington State, where the team work together on carefully selected crosses, pheno-hunting and testing new cultivars.

The result is a pretty unusual seed company where several breeders who would ordinarily be releasing genetics independently are pooling their collections and experience. Early Arcana releases include BananaHamma (Hamma Hamma × Banana Bx3), Bananalicious (Bubble Gum × Banana Bx3), Bing Cherry Brittle (Black Cherry Brittle × Banana Bx3) and the seriously resinous Disco Fever (Dante’s Inferno × Banana Bx3).

There’s a strong emphasis throughout the Arcana project on knowing exactly where genetics came from, preserving their history and making sure the original breeders receive proper recognition for their work. Considering just how much cannabis history is represented by the people involved, we think that’s a pretty good philosophy to have!
