Tri Me Genetics are doing something a little different in the cannabis seed world — they’re concentrating entirely on triploid genetics.

Most cannabis is naturally diploid, meaning it carries two sets of chromosomes. Triploid cannabis carries three, and that small-sounding difference creates some very interesting characteristics. In particular, triploids have been shown to have dramatically reduced fertility and can produce far fewer seeds when exposed to pollen.

Rather than treating triploids as the occasional novelty release, Tri Me Genetics have built their whole range around them. The branding might be playful, but the idea behind the breeder is very deliberate: take strains people already know and love and explore them through this relatively new direction in cannabis breeding.
