Common Wealth Seed Co

Common Wealth Seed Co are a relatively new cannabis breeder with some seriously experienced people and genetics behind them! Closely connected with the team at Archive Seedbank, the project has quickly developed its own identity with a particular focus on flavour-packed feminised genetics and strains capable of producing exceptional amounts of resin.

At the heart of much of their early work is Grape Sunshine, a strain which Common Wealth themselves describe as the cross that started the whole project. It has subsequently been paired with an impressive collection of well-known and unusual genetics including Ghost OG, East Coast Sour Diesel, Key Lime Pie, Wedding Pie, Starburst OG and I95.

That’s resulted in strains such as Grape Ghost (Ghost OG × Grape Sunshine), UV Sour (Sour Irene OG × Grape Sunshine), Lime Whip (Key Lime Pie × Grape Sunshine), Speed Bump (I95 × Grape Sunshine) and Wedlock (Wedding Pie × Grape Sunshine). As you can probably tell, they’re not afraid to dig into some really interesting modern American genetics!

More recently they’ve also been working extensively with Wild Thornberry, using it to create strains including Superberry, Strawberry Honeycombz, Thornberry Pie and Thornberry Thicket. This has helped broaden the range beyond the original Grape Sunshine family while keeping the same emphasis on big flavours and resin-rich plants.

Common Wealth Seed Co are definitely one to watch if you’re interested in modern US genetics, unusual terpene combinations and breeders who actually put some thought into which plants they’re putting together.
