Permanent Marker XL Auto is Sweet Seeds’ extra-large autoflowering take on modern Californian genetics, made by crossing Permanent Marker with Permanent Jealousy XL Auto. It’s available as feminised autoflowering seeds and is aimed at growers who want the Permanent Marker style in a quicker, resin-heavy XL auto format.

The make-up is listed as 66.6% indica, 33.3% sativa and 0.1% ruderalis, so it keeps a clear indica majority while still carrying enough sativa influence for a brighter start to the effect. Sweet Seeds released this strain in January 2026 as part of its 8th Generation autoflowering work, combining the strength and terpene character associated with recent Californian lines with an automatic flowering cycle.

THC is given at 23–30%, with around 0.1% CBD. The effect is described as powerful and long-lasting, opening with creative, uplifting euphoria before settling into a more relaxed and pleasant finish. That makes it a strong option for people who like a positive end-of-day smoke rather than something flat or one-note.

Resin, size and cycle

Plants are medium to tall for an auto, reaching around 50–130 cm. The structure is open and vigorous, with large dense buds, good trichome coverage and a look marked by dark green flowers, bright orange pistils and a frosty finish. Resin production is one of the key points here, with the buds described as well suited to all types of extractions.

The full indoor or outdoor cycle is 8–9 weeks from germination. Indoors, under artificial lighting and suitable parameters, Permanent Marker XL Auto can produce 400–550 g/m². Outdoors, with ample sun, good soil and suitable nutrition, yields are listed at 50–160 g per plant.

The open growth pattern is also noted for helping airflow and even light distribution across the plant. It’s not presented as a tiny windowsill auto; this is the XL side of the family, so the height range is worth noting if space is tight.
