Description
Kosher Dawg is a heavy, flavour-led DNA Genetics Seeds release with proper old-school weight behind it. It’s available as feminised seeds and brings together StarDawg (Guava) x Kosher Kush, two lines known for strong flavours, resin and serious effect. The balance is listed as 80% indica and 20% sativa, though the high is often described as having both an uplifting head and a settling body side.
This one is also known as “Hebrew National” in some circles, and it has the kind of background that makes sense of the name. Kosher Kush, also called Kosher OG, is a multi-award-winning indica-dominant cultivar and is widely regarded as a very potent indica line. StarDawg comes from Chemdog 4 x Tres Dawg, with its name tied to the bright crystal trichomes that can cover the plant like stars. Kosher Dawg itself is noted as a two-time High Times Cannabis Cup winner.
THC is the main headline cannabinoid here: Kosher Dawg averages around 24% THC and can rise to 29% THC. That level suits shoppers after strong genetics rather than something light or casual. The effect usually starts with a euphoric, lifted feel from the StarDawg side, followed by a soothing body buzz from the Kosher Kush influence. As it builds, the relaxing side becomes more obvious and can move towards a sleepy finish, so it’s often better matched to evening use.
Earth, gas and a sour-skunky edge
Kosher Dawg has a bold aroma rather than a delicate one. Expect earthy and floral notes first, with fuel and spice becoming stronger when the buds are broken apart. StarDawg brings a diesel-like, earthy punch, while Kosher Kush adds earthier fruit and a deeper, relaxing Kush character.
The flavour carries plenty of earth, gas and skunk, with some users picking up a subtle sourness and citrus undertones. On the exhale there can be floral and pine notes, followed by a bittersweet soil-like aftertaste with a faint floral edge. Myrcene is listed as the dominant terpene, backed by caryophyllene and limonene, which fits the earthy, spicy and citrus-leaning profile.
How it grows
Kosher Dawg is described as suitable for indoor and outdoor cultivation and reaches a medium height. It is not presented as a beginner’s throw-it-anywhere plant; the guidance points more towards growers with some experience who can keep the environment steady and give the crop regular attention. In return, most growers report high yields, and DNA Genetics’ line is noted for rewarding good care with resinous buds.
The plant develops sturdy stems and minty green buds coated in sticky amber trichomes at maturity. Topping is suggested to improve structure and energy distribution. It can be grown in soil, coco coir or hydroponics, with nutrient management adjusted to the chosen medium. A balanced feed with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium is recommended, along with useful micronutrients such as calcium and magnesium.
For indoor work, the guidance gives 65–80°F and 40–60% humidity as the target range, with slightly lower night temperatures. Good air movement and hygiene are called out during flowering, especially to help avoid mould and mildew in damp conditions. During vegetative growth, Kosher Dawg is said to thrive with 18–24 hours of daylight, then a 12/12 schedule in flowering. LED or HID lighting is recommended for suitable intensity.
Flowering takes around nine weeks in favourable conditions. Reported yield is 18–23 oz/m² of resinous buds. Outdoors, regular checks for pests such as spider mites, aphids and whiteflies are advised, particularly when plants are exposed to the usual seasonal pressures.
Kosher Dawg is a strong pick if you want a Kush-and-Chemdog-family cross with pronounced earth, gas and skunk, a high THC range and a relaxing finish. It’s best suited to growers who can keep feeding, humidity and airflow on point rather than leaving the plant to guess its way through flowering.
