Description
Candy Belt is TH Seeds’ faster, easier take on Rainbow Belts #20, crossed with Pure Afghani to tighten up the structure and bring the flowering time down. It’s available as feminised seeds and keeps the modern candy-shop flavour that Rainbow Belts is known for, with a more practical plant shape for growers who don’t want a long, awkward veg.
The exact genetics are Rainbow Belts #20 x Pure Afghani. TH Seeds describes Rainbow Belts #20 as close to an ideal plant, but one that can take a while to clone and needs a longer vegetative stage to build a good frame. The Pure Afghani side is used here for speed and branching, helping Candy Belt form a wide, open structure with useful side branches and comfortable internode spacing.
This is a 55% sativa and 45% indica variety, so it has a fairly balanced feel on paper, just tipping to the sativa side. In the grow room it’s reported to be straightforward and forgiving, with limited stretch, while still growing both tall and wide. TH Seeds recommends topping it once, then letting it grow naturally rather than overworking it. Listed height is 110–150 cm, with yields around 500–600 g per square metre.
Flowering is quick for this sort of candy-flavoured cross. The standard flowering time is 8 weeks, and some phenotypes may be ready after 45–48 days. Buds are described as light green with a touch of colour, forming golf-ball-shaped flowers that are very dense but still have a soft feel. Even the lower flowers are noted for staying dense, which is a useful point if you like solid, well-filled plants rather than airy lowers.
The flavour is the big draw. Candy Belt mixes tropical sweetness, sweet gas, spice, gummy candy and lemon peel, giving it that full “candy” profile without losing the gassy edge. The flowers are oily and very dense, and TH Seeds points to it as a good choice for ice water hash. It’s less suited to dry resin work because of that oily flower character.
Effects are described as enjoyable, sociable, relaxed and happy. It’s framed more as a daytime fun, mood-lifting smoke than a heavy couch-lock type, with enough ease in the effect to keep things comfortable. For customers after a fast-flowering Rainbow Belts-style cross with proper sweet gas flavour and a grower-friendly Afghani backbone, Candy Belt is a tidy fit.
