Description
Vanilla Icing from Seed City Seeds takes its cue from Humboldt County dessert genetics, using Humboldt Frost OG × Humboldt Gelato Bx3 as its named parentage. It is available as feminised seeds and has a 65% indica / 35% sativa balance, so there’s a clear indica base without losing the brighter Gelato-style lift.
The line is tied to Vanilla Frosting genetics originally associated with Humboldt Seed Company and Humboldt County, California. In the cross, Humboldt Gelato Bx3 supplies the Gelato-derived dessert side, while Humboldt Frost OG brings the Frost/OG influence. That background shows in the plant’s mix of creamy sweetness, fuel notes and heavy resin production.
THC is listed at 18–20% according to Blimburn Seeds. The effect is described as energetic, euphoric and relaxed, with an uplifting cerebral feel alongside noticeable physical relaxation. It should suit shoppers who like a dessert-flavoured indica-leaning variety that doesn’t sound flat or sleepy from the first mention.
Flavour is led by vanilla and diesel. The vanilla side is creamy, sweet and buttery, with floral, earthy and herbal notes sitting underneath, while the OG/fuel side gives it more bite than a simple sweet shop profile. The aroma follows the same line: creamy vanilla first, then pungent diesel/fuel with softer floral and herbal edges. Caryophyllene, myrcene and alpha-pinene are the listed terpenes.
In cultivation, Vanilla Icing is described as a vigorous hybrid with strong stalks, substantial branching and well-spaced nodes. It has more vertical growth than many squat Gelato-derived plants and reaches around 1.5 m. The flowers are large, dense and heavily coated in trichomes, often giving a silvery frosted look, with purple colour possible.
Flowering time is 8–10 weeks. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor cultivation in temperate conditions, and Blimburn Seeds describes it as beginner-suitable. Indoor yields are listed at 400–450 g/m², with outdoor plants producing 450–550 g per plant. Blimburn lists the outdoor harvest period as “All Season”.
Choose Vanilla Icing if you want Humboldt-linked Gelato and OG genetics with a creamy vanilla-fuel profile, strong structure and frosty resin-heavy flowers rather than a purely sweet dessert strain.
