Seeds of Anarchy

Seeds of Anarchy are the latest project from Breeder Steve, a name that should be very familiar to anyone who’s been following cannabis genetics for a while! Steve originally founded the legendary Spice of Life Seeds in the 1990s and was responsible for classics including Sweet Tooth, Shishkaberry, Sweet Pink Grapefruit and Blockhead.

After a very long break from releasing new breeding projects, Seeds of Anarchy marked his proper return. The first feminised lines appeared in 2024 and were described by Steve as his first new breeder project in approximately 20 years, which makes this considerably more interesting than simply another new seed-bank name appearing out of nowhere!

The initial Seeds of Anarchy collection was created by reversing Spritzer and using its pollen across a selection of elite West Coast mothers. That produced a seriously modern line-up while still carrying a connection to the fruity genetics Breeder Steve became famous for decades earlier.

There are some brilliantly named strains in the range too! Dancing Sprite, Spritzade, Cabin Fever, Naughty Dawg, Bullshit, Gorgon, Gunk and Slurpicle all use Spritzer genetics alongside modern favourites including White Runtz, Gelonade, Log Cabin, Garlotti, Fatso and Gush Mints.

What makes Seeds of Anarchy particularly interesting is that it brings together two very different eras of cannabis breeding. You’ve got a breeder who was already selecting and developing important genetics back in the 1990s, now getting his hands on some of the best-known modern American varieties and seeing what he can do with them. That’s quite a combination!
