Amnesia Haze

Amnesia Haze is one of Soma Seeds’ best-known Originals, with a proper old-school Haze background and a serious contest record behind it. It’s available as both feminised and regular seeds, giving collectors a choice between the easier all-female route and regular stock for those who prefer working with both sexes.

The genetics are a complicated mix rather than a simple two-parent cross. Soma built Amnesia Haze from Southeast Asian lines including Thai sticks, Cambodian and Laotian, then added Jamaican Haze varieties noted for high THC and a sharp flavour. An Afghani-Hawaiian line was also worked in to help shorten the flowering time and add to the taste. The finished balance is 70% sativa and 30% indica.

That breeding history matters because it explains the character: this is Haze-led, lively and flavour-focused, but not quite as drawn-out as some long tropical lines. The listed flowering time is 10–12 weeks, so it still asks for patience and a bit of confidence from the grower. Soma describes it as a slight challenge, but also points to strong returns, with a minimum yield given at 35–40 grams.

Amnesia Haze has also done very well in the Netherlands over the years. It won first prize at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2012, and Soma notes first-place results in three Dutch cannabis contests, including the High Times Cannabis Cup 2004. Barney’s Breakfast Bar also won the all-around Cannabis Cup with Amnesia Haze supplied by Soma, which helped cement its reputation with Haze fans.

Expect a sharp, taste-led profile from the Jamaican Haze side, backed by the wider Southeast Asian and Afghani-Hawaiian mix. The appeal here is not speed or simplicity; it’s the layered Haze pedigree, cup-winning history and that bright sativa-heavy character.
