Ziplock Seeds

Ziplock Seeds are an American cannabis breeder with some seriously deep roots! Run by Shanoah Stanley, the family operation is based in Southern Oregon while maintaining breeding facilities back in Maui, Hawaii, where much of the family’s cannabis story began. Shanoah learnt the craft from his father, himself an old-school breeder associated with legendary genetics including William’s Wonder.

Those Hawaiian roots still play a big part in what Ziplock Seeds are doing today. Their breeding concentrates heavily on flavour, terpene profiles, vigour, resistance and good-looking plants, with large pheno hunts used to dig out the individuals worth taking forward. Their motto is suitably simple — “Locking in Flavor” — and flavour really does seem to sit right at the centre of the whole project.

They’ve produced a pretty enormous collection of modern American genetics over the years, with strains such as Frosted Flakes, Gas Drop, Pomegranate Spritzer, Deep Space Candy, Fugazi Funk, Maui Mac Nut and Znow Flakes helping to build their reputation. They aren’t short of competition success either, with Ziplock now claiming more than 75 awards worldwide. Recent wins include Clemenberry taking 1st place for Sun Grown Outdoor Flower at the 2025 Aloha Open, Fugazi Funk winning Indoor Flower at Copa Cata Zona Norte and Deep Space Candy taking 1st for Indoor Flower at the 2025 NECANN Cup.

Things have become even more interesting with Ziplock joining Sensi Seeds’ Breeding Grounds project. The collaboration sees Ziplock’s modern award-winning genetics combined with famous Sensi lines including Jamaican Pearl, Black Domina and Silver Haze, with the resulting crosses being selected outdoors under Hawaiian conditions. That’s a pretty exciting meeting of new-school American breeding and some genuinely historic Dutch genetics!

There’s family breeding history, Hawaiian influence, huge selection hunts and a genuine obsession with finding distinctive flavours.
