Tostones is Compound Genetics’ indica-dominant cross of the Private Banana clone with Black Amber pollen, with Black Amber made from GMO x OZ Kush Bx2. It is available as feminised seeds and is aimed squarely at fans of classic gas, kush and earthy profiles rather than the sweeter side often associated with the Black Amber line.

The breeder’s notes place Tostones at 25–30% THC, so potency is a central part of the appeal. The genetic balance is listed as more than 60% indica, and the effect is described as intense, with a euphoric lift at the start followed by marked body relaxation. It is better matched to unwinding than to active, busy moments.

The aroma has an old-school OG nose: strong gas, kush and a green earthy background. On the palate it keeps that spicy, fuel-heavy character, with woody touches linked to caryophyllene, myrcene and humulene. If you prefer sharp dessert sweetness, this probably isn’t the main draw. Tostones is more about recognisable kush weight and savoury depth.

In the grow room, Tostones is described as vigorous from the start, with a robust structure and straightforward management. The flowers are dense and highly resinous, making it suitable for extractions. Indoor flowering is listed at 10–14 weeks, with the line also noted as needing over 65 days, so it is not the quickest option in the catalogue. The trade-off is reliable, consistent production from a plant built for weight and resin.

Indoor yields are given at 350–500 g/m². Outdoors, harvest is in autumn, with reported yields of 400–1000 g per plant under suitable conditions.
