Blue Lobster

Blue Lobster is all about colour, resin and a fruit profile that goes well past ordinary sweetness. This Seed City Seeds release is available as feminised seeds and comes from a cross of Apples and Bananas × Eye Candy, giving it a modern dessert-fruit background with a heavier, indica-leaning feel.

It’s generally classed as a hybrid to indica-leaning hybrid, but the plant shape is more manageable hybrid than squat old-school indica. Expect a medium-sized, vigorous structure with moderate stretch as flowering starts, followed by substantial branching and dense flower clusters. The usual flowering time is around 8–9 weeks, with a little movement possible between phenotypes.

The visual side is a big part of Blue Lobster’s appeal. Mature flowers are typically dense and chunky, built from tightly stacked, swollen calyxes. The base colour can sit in deep forest green or mint green, often broken up by violet, indigo, purple or dark periwinkle tones. Some buds can get very dark, while still showing bright green flashes between the calyxes rather than turning into one flat block of purple.

Resin production is heavy. Flowers and nearby sugar leaves can take on a glassy, white-frosted look from the thick trichome cover, with orange to amber pistils standing out against the green and purple flower tissue. If you like modern strains with strong bag appeal, Blue Lobster has the sort of colour contrast and frost that gets noticed straight away.

The aroma is strongly fruit-led, with blueberry candy often the most recognisable note. Around that you may pick up grape, plum, ripe apple and other dark, sweet fruit aromas. The Apples and Bananas parentage can add apple, banana and creamy fruit notes, while sharper citrus, tartness and gas stop the profile from becoming too simple or syrupy.

Different examples can show extra earthy spice, pepper, floral touches, mint or even a slight savoury edge. The flavour follows the same broad pattern: sweet blueberry, grape and candy at the front, apple-like fruit in the middle, then a sour or gassy finish. Some plants lean hard into blueberry confectionery, while others show more grape, plum, creamy fruit or earthy gas.

The terpene profile is commonly led by limonene, myrcene and caryophyllene, with linalool also prominent in some tested examples. That fits the mix nicely: citrus brightness, deeper fruit, earthy body, peppery spice and the occasional floral note all have room to show.

Potency is high, with well-grown examples commonly landing in the 25–28% THC range. CBD levels are generally very low. Exceptional batches have been reported around 30% THC or higher, but 25–28% is the more sensible range to keep in mind when comparing it with other strong modern hybrids.

The effect usually starts with a clear cerebral lift. Mood can brighten, and sociable, talkative or creative effects are often reported early on. As it settles in, Blue Lobster tends to move towards calmer physical relaxation rather than hitting immediately with heavy sedation. Larger amounts can feel much weightier, but the typical character is euphoric and mentally lifted first, then comfortably relaxed in the body.
