Description

Red Lotus is a colourful, terpene-led release from Conscious Genetics, made from Red Kachina V2 x Pink Waferz F1. It’s available as feminised seeds and sits in the modern more-indica hybrid camp, with the breeder’s familiar focus on rich flower colour, resin and dessert-style aromatics.

Conscious Genetics is a UK boutique breeder with a reputation for anthocyanin-rich selections and flavour-first crosses. Red Lotus fits that style neatly. It’s aimed at growers who like strong bag appeal as much as potency: deep colour, frosty flowers, and a layered nose rather than a flat sweet profile.

The plant is described as tall with strong stretch, so it isn’t one to ignore once flowering starts. Indoors, it suits growers who can manage height and canopy shape, especially if topping and trellising are already part of the plan. The supplied grow information lists a medium flowering time and a very high yield, with suitability for indoor cultivation as well as warm or temperate outdoor climates.

Visually, Red Lotus earns its name. Flowers can show deep emerald tones with burgundy, ruby, plum and wine-coloured highlights, especially when cooler late-flower nights bring out the anthocyanins. Pistils may shift through coral and copper shades by weeks 7–9, giving the finished buds a strong contrast against the resin.

Bud structure is another part of the appeal. Red Lotus is associated with dense, tapered flowers, a high calyx-to-leaf ratio and noticeable trichome coverage. Mature plants can stack secondary colas evenly across a trained canopy, and cured buds are described as compact, slightly sticky and coated with a glassy crust of resin. For anyone selecting mainly on jar appeal, this is one of the stronger points of the variety.

Red fruit, florals and spice

The aroma opens with ripe red fruit, candied floral notes and a warm spice base. Think cherry compote, pomegranate peel and soft rose petal first, followed by a bakery sweetness with hints of vanilla sugar and light cinnamon. Grinding the flower can bring out more red apple, hibiscus tea and a faint resinous pine note.

The flavour follows a clear sequence. The inhale is bright and juicy, with raspberry coulis, red currant and a blood-orange lift. The middle turns more floral and creamy, bringing rosewater, hibiscus and vanilla cream. On the exhale, beta-caryophyllene-style pepper warmth comes through with a lightly tannic black-tea finish. A noticeable aftertaste may linger for 60–120 seconds, which is a useful detail if you prefer cultivars with lasting flavour rather than a quick hit of sweetness.

Reported dominant terpenes include myrcene, limonene and beta-caryophyllene, with linalool, humulene and alpha-pinene appearing in support. Total terpene content is described in the 1.8–3.2% range by dry weight, with the top five terpenes often making up most of the volatile profile. That helps explain the mix of jammy fruit, citrus lift, floral softness and peppered depth.

Potency and effect

Red Lotus is THC-led. Reported cannabinoid ranges put THC at 18–26%, CBD generally below 1%, and CBG often between 0.3–1.2%. It’s not presented as a CBD-rich cultivar; the draw is stronger THC potency paired with a pronounced terpene profile.

The effect is described as balanced for a more-indica hybrid: an early uplift and brighter mood, followed by body ease without necessarily becoming heavy straight away. At modest levels, reports mention clear-headedness that can suit music, creative bits or relaxed social time. Larger servings, especially with extracts, may move it towards more introspective, couch-friendly relaxation.

Red Lotus should suit shoppers who want a Conscious Genetics variety with colour, resin and layered dessert fruit rather than a plain high-THC option. The strong stretch and tall frame mean it asks for some space and attention, but the reward is a very high-yielding plant with striking red-toned flowers and a flavour profile that carries from fruit into florals, spice and a lingering tea-like finish.
