SBSP

SBSP is a Hortilab regular seeds release built around the breeder’s old Starbud line and its Sour Power work. The make-up is more specific than a simple Starbud cross: Sour Power was made by pollinating Hortilab’s Starbud with ECSD V3, then SBSP was created by crossing a Sour Power male back to the original Starbud genetics.

That Starbud side is the bit many collectors will recognise. It’s an old-school indica from the Midwestern USA, with unknown genetics, and it spent a long time as Hortilab’s flagship indica. The name comes from the heavy resin coverage on the buds, which gives them a bright, starry look. Starbud also has a proper cup record behind it, taking 1st place in the breeder indica category at the 2009 ICMag 420 Cup and 1st place in the Indica category at the 22nd Cannabis Cup.

The Sour Power side adds Hortilab’s East Coast Sour Diesel breeding work through ECSD V3, described as the third stage of breeding on those East Coast Sour Diesel genetics. By bringing a Sour Power male back to Starbud, SBSP keeps the focus close to the original Starbud while adding that Sour Power influence rather than moving too far away from the parent line.

Plants are listed for indoor or outdoor cultivation, with an 8–10 week flowering time and medium to high yield potential. regular seeds make sense here for growers and collectors who want access to both male and female plants from this Starbud/Sour Power backcross, especially where selection work is part of the plan.
