Green Candy Apple

Green Candy Apple by TH Seeds pairs a Californian Bad Root cut of Rainbow Belts x Apple Mintz with a Pure Afghani male. It’s available as feminised seeds and sits right down the middle at 50% sativa and 50% indica.

The Bad Root cut came from Ember Valley in California and is noted for its fruity profile, especially that green apple cotton candy edge. TH Seeds has matched it with its Pure Afghani male to add extra strength to the growth and flavour. The listed genetics are Rainbow Belts x Apple Mintz x Pure Afghani, so this is a modern sweet Cali-style line with a sturdier Afghani backbone.

In the grow room, Green Candy Apple is described as very easy to grow. It stays fairly manageable rather than shooting up too tall, with a plant height of around 110–150 cm. It has good structure, useful internode spacing and enough side branching without becoming too leafy. Expect a stretch of around 2x, sometimes a little more, and it can spread out in width.

TH Seeds suggests topping it once, although it can also be left untopped because the plant doesn’t naturally get too tall. Veg growth is a little slower, then it picks up pace again in flower. Flowering time is 8–9 weeks, with yields listed at 500–600 g per square metre.

The flowers are dense and heavily covered in trichomes, with a very distinct smell that carries through closely into the taste. The main flavour notes are green apple and candy mint, with the breeder also pointing to a green apple cotton candy character from the Bad Root side. It’s also flagged as a good option for dry extract and rosin, and especially well suited to ice water extraction.

The effect is described as a full relaxed feeling for both body and mind, with a long-lasting finish. It can be a bit strong for beginners, so Green Candy Apple is better matched to customers who want a sweeter, resinous strain with a heavier relaxed effect rather than something light and brief.
