Fruit Bomb Punch

Fruit Bomb Punch is all about big fruit, big plants and a properly strong daytime high. Dutch Passion Seeds created it for growers who care about flavour but still want serious yield and resin, and it is available as feminised seeds.

The exact cross is Erdbeer IBL × (Tangie × Cherry Pie) BX1 × Sugar Bomb Punch. That parentage matters here. The Erdbeer side comes from a Swiss inbred line originally developed for outdoor growers and known for its sweet strawberry character. Dutch Passion worked through fruity selections over the years, then an accidental pollination with a potent Tangie and Cherry Pie female clone led to offspring with exceptional fruitiness and heavy trichome production. A standout fruity “headbanger” type was then selected, backcrossed to the original Erdbeer IBL for stability and resilience, and finally crossed with Dutch Passion’s cup-winning Sugar Bomb Punch to shorten flowering and add potency.

The aroma is the first thing most people will notice. Fruit Bomb Punch has an extremely sweet, fruity profile with citrus and ripe tropical fruit at the front. Depending on the plant, there can also be softer cream, candy or slight chemical/diesel notes in the background. It’s a loud terpene profile rather than a mild one, and the flavour is described as thick, smooth and very fruit-led when smoked or vaped.

The terpene breakdown supports that bright, sweet character, with limonene listed as the leading terpene at 29.5%, followed by beta-caryophyllene at 21.1%, linalool at 10.3%, humulene at 8.4% and beta-pinene at 6.4%. Cannabinoid-wise, Dutch Passion rates the THC as extremely high, with growing advice referring to a high 20–25% THC content; the listed minor headline cannabinoids include CBG at 0.48% and CBD at 0.16%.

Large plants, heavy flowers and strong stretch

This is a sativa-dominant hybrid in effect, though the plant structure is described as closer to a balanced 50/50 hybrid. In veg it shows more of a hybrid leaf shape, then moves a little more towards the sativa side later in growth and flowering. Expect medium to large plants with average internode spacing, strong branches and noticeable stretch after switching to 12/12.

Indoors, Fruit Bomb Punch averages around 60–65 days from the flip to 12/12, with the general flowering time given as 9–10 weeks. It was developed as an indoor cultivar, but the Swiss landrace background gives it a degree of resilience. Outdoors, harvest is expected around mid-to-late October, and Dutch Passion notes that it has not yet been fully tested outside, so they do not specifically recommend it for guerrilla or temperate outdoor growing at this stage.

Yield is one of its stronger practical points. Indoors, it can exceed 550–600+ grams per m² across a range of techniques. The open structure lets light reach lower and smaller buds, and it suits both SCROG and SOG. For SCROG, Dutch Passion recommends topping or fimming to encourage earlier lateral growth. Outdoors, in warmer and drier climates, it can become very large and produce up to 750–1000 grams per plant.

The flowers are large, dense and sticky, with a thick white coat of trichomes. They can get heavy enough to need support late in bloom. Colour is also part of the appeal: in the final weeks, leaves and buds may show deep orange, red and even purple tones, especially under white LED lighting, with bright orange pistils against the resin.

Happy, social and powerful

The effect is described as cerebral, happy, uplifting and sociable, with more psychoactive lift than physical weight. It’s aimed more at daytime use, parties, creative time and social situations than couch-heavy evening use. The strength is not casual, though. Dutch Passion makes a point of saying the high is long-lasting and can be overwhelming at too high a dose, so experienced smokers are likely to get the most from it.

Fruit Bomb Punch should suit customers after a loud modern fruit profile, heavy resin, colourful dense buds and XXL yield potential. It asks for space, height and some attention to support, but it gives back with a very distinctive sweet-fruit terpene profile and a strong, upbeat high.
