Description
Lemon Cherry Runtz is a full-term photoperiod variety from FastBuds, available as feminised seeds. The genetics are ((Lemon Cherry Gelato × Runtz) × Lemonpaya) × (Lemon Cherry Gelato × Runtz), giving it a strong Lemon Cherry Gelato and Runtz base with Lemonpaya worked in for extra depth, structure and terpene intensity.
FastBuds describes this as the result of years of selective breeding and refinement. The current BX1 version was developed to reinforce the Lemon Cherry Gelato foundation while keeping the candy sweetness associated with Runtz. It is a balanced 50% sativa and 50% indica hybrid, with THC listed at up to 33% and CBD at less than 1%.
The flavour is one of the main reasons to look at this one. Expect cherry, cream and sweet notes, with a richer lemon cherry gelato character, bright candy sweetness and a subtle creamy papaya finish. The aftertaste is described as tropical, and the aroma is strong enough to carry from jar to smoke rather than disappearing after curing.
In growth, Lemon Cherry Runtz is not pitched as a beginner’s plant. It shows strong vigour, uniform development and a sturdy, bushy structure from early on, but FastBuds recommends it for advanced growers. Early training and careful structural control are useful, and it performs best when airflow, lighting and feeding are kept well aligned.
Flowering takes 9–10 weeks. Plants can reach 140–180 cm, so it is worth planning space rather than treating it as a small-room afterthought. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor cultivation, with the intended climate range covering moderate, hot and very hot conditions.
Yield potential is high when the plant is dialled in. Indoor harvests are listed at 500–650 g/m², while outdoor plants can produce up to 1100 g per plant. The flowers stack into thick, dense colas with heavy resin production, which is very much part of the appeal here alongside the flavour.
Lemon Cherry Runtz suits growers who want a balanced hybrid with serious strength, loud dessert-style terpenes and a bigger plant structure. It asks for a confident hand, but the reward is dense, resin-rich flower with cherry-cream sweetness and that tropical finish.
