Papayton

Papayton is a big-yielding FastBuds photoperiod made for growers who already know their way around a demanding plant. Available as feminised seeds, it combines Gary Payton x Gelato x Lemonpaya, using Lemonpaya for tropical sweetness alongside the stronger Gary Payton and Gelato side of the cross.

This is a balanced 50% sativa and 50% indica variety, with THC listed at up to 32% and CBD at < 1%. FastBuds positions Papayton as one of its premium photoperiod strains, developed through an in-house breeding project with production, resin output, terpene strength, structure and stability in mind.

The plant grows in a classic Christmas tree shape, with strong side branches that can come close to the main cola for size and density. Bud sites are described as stacking evenly across the plant, forming thick, compact flowers with heavy trichome coverage from top to bottom. The finished flowers can take on a dark, almost blackish look, which gives Papayton a fairly striking bag appeal before you even get to the aroma.

Flowering time is around 9–10 weeks. Indoors, yields are listed at 550–800 g/m², while outdoor plants can reach up to 1200 g per plant. Height sits at 120–185 cm, so it is not a tiny option, and FastBuds gives it an XXXL size rating. It can be grown indoors or outdoors, with intended climates ranging from moderate through hot and very hot.

Papayton is not presented as an easy first grow. FastBuds recommends it for advanced growers, as it needs good environmental control and precise feeding to reach its full potential. That is an important part of the choice here: the appeal is serious production and resin, but the plant asks for a steady hand.

The flavour is one of the clearest reasons to pick it. Expect sweet fruit, creamy ice cream notes and a sour edge, with the breeder describing fruity sherbet tones and a smooth ice-cream-like finish that lingers on the palate. The smell is rated strong to very strong, so this is not a quiet, background sort of cultivar.

Papayton should suit experienced growers after a high-THC, high-output photoperiod with modern dessert genetics, dark resinous flowers and a sweet-sour tropical cream profile.
