From Humboldt Seed Organization’s genetic collection, Sapphire OG is a breeding creation made from an OG X OG/Afghan mix. It displays unique landrace traits from an Old World Afghan combined with a late 90’s OG Kush, producing a potent strain with a colorful and complex aroma profile.

Growth and Flowering

Sapphire OG showcases fast early growth, leading to a swift transition into the flowering stage. It is said to be recommended to use trellising and SCROG techniques to manage its canopy and encourage even growth. The thin fan leaves allow for good light penetration, supporting strong secondary development. Indoors, it flowers quickly, developing long, dense, and resinous colas over 57-63 days. Outdoors, harvests occur by late September to early October, with potential heights over 5 meters depending on the grower’s expertise. Early double trellising is reportedly advised for support during the final weeks of growth.

Aroma, Effects, and Production

The strain emits complex aromas, including gassy, pine, and chocolate notes with citric and floral undertones. Its effects are robust and cerebral, leading to a strong body high, suitable for evening use, appetite stimulation, and pain relief.
