This plant is originally from the Kuban region in southern Russia. The genetics are a cross of Northern Light x AK-47 x Kuban Sativa. The result is an easy-to-grow plant with high pest resistance. Already in its development phase it shows signs of becoming a vigorous plant with a robust trunk. It’s large, deep green leaves suggest that it is an indica plant, but because it has been crossed with Kuban Sativa and Ak47 it has a long flowering period and a sativa effect.
Buds loaded with resin, voluminous and compact with numerous ramifications. Its effect is long lasting, balanced between the physical and the mental. Its intense woody, spicy flavour gives it its own characteristic touch.
Strain FAQ
Can plant structure affect insect resistance?
Yes, leaf density and structure can affect a cannabis plant's pest resistance. Compact plants with dense foliage may provide a pest-free microclimate in the canopy, increasing their resilience.
What gives some cannabis strains their woodsy taste and smell?
Woodsy cannabis strains smell like forests thanks to terpenes like Alpha-Pinene, Beta-Pinene, Myrcene, and Humulene. These organic compounds give it a rich, woodsy smell like a walk in the woods or freshly cut timber.
Why do high-yielding cannabis strains yield so much?
Their genetics are the key to this question! These strains combine sativa's tall growth and high biomass with indica's denser bud production. This genetic base is what enables their high production and explains why they generally have a mix of indica and sativa traits.
How has Central American and Caribbean cannabis genetics affected the world?
Central American and Caribbean strains have contributed significantly to the world cannabis gene pool. By combining these strains with others globally, breeders have generated a wide range of new popular hybrids.
Why do tall strains generally have extended flowering times?
Tall cannabis strains flower longer due to their usually Sativa genetics. This elongated flowering process is said to allow for more complex flavours and powerful cannabis characteristics. They typically flower for 10–14 weeks, unlike shorter, Indica-dominant strains.
