Moby Dick

Moby Dick is Seed City Seeds’ take on the classic White Widow × Haze line, available as feminised seeds. It keeps the familiar shape of the cultivar: 60% sativa and 40% indica, with big Haze-led growth, dense resinous flowers and a bright, cerebral effect. THC is listed at 24–27%.

The background matters here because each side of the cross is doing a clear job. White Widow brings flower density, heavy trichome production and a robust hybrid base. Haze adds the taller sativa structure, mental lift and the incense, wood and citrus notes that run through the aroma. The original Moby Dick line is associated with Spanish breeding and became known for strong sativa dominance, large yields and a serious resin coat.

This is a vigorous plant with a large main stem and plenty of lateral branching. Outdoors it can reach up to around 3 m, so it’s worth thinking about space before choosing it for a small spot. Blimburn Seeds describes it as beginner-suitable, though the size and strong growth mean it will suit growers who can give it room, warmth and plenty of light. It prefers tropical or subtropical conditions and performs best in warm, bright environments.

Flowering time is 9–10 weeks. Indoor yields are listed at up to around 650 g/m², while outdoor plants are reported at approximately 400–600 g per plant. Blimburn currently lists the outdoor harvest window as “All Season”; classic Moby Dick genetics are traditionally associated with a mid-October finish in the Northern Hemisphere. Blimburn also identifies Moby Dick as having good resistance to mould and mildew.

The flowers are dense, hard and very frosty, with abundant trichome coverage and high resin production. The aroma starts with sour citrus and lemon, then brings in pine, cedar wood, sweet vanilla and a more traditional Haze-like incense note. The flavour follows a similar path: citrus, pine and sweetness, with sour lemon, cedar, vanilla and incense giving it more detail than a simple lemon haze profile. Reported terpenes include caryophyllene, linalool, myrcene, p-cymene and terpinolene.

Effects are described as focused, happy and relaxed. Expect the sativa side to show first through an uplifting, cerebral feel with mental stimulation and creative energy, while the White Widow side adds a balancing physical relaxation rather than leaving it purely racy.
