LemonGold Drops is our latest heavy yielding hybrid combining three highly acclaimed strains. First we combined the Las Vegas Lemon Skunk clone with our Pot of Gold to create a very stable F1 with a perfect combination of the pheno-types we aimed for, taste, vigor, consistency and yield. The resulting hybrid showed one small problem, thanks to the Pot of Gold influences this strain stops growing once the flowering cycle starts.
Without the initial stretch period during the first few weeks of flowering it was too easy to grow plants too short, resulting in a smaller yield due to the lack of added bud-sites. After a few tests of crossing her with a few different, more stretchy strains, we found that
using our AK47 gave the results we were looking for. Our 2006 clone of the AK47 is a more Indica dominant clone that we obtained after it won the Cannabis Cup that year for best Indica.
This AK47 has a strong Kushy smell and taste besides the earthy/pine we know from earlier AK clones and has a descent amount of stretch, making her a perfect companion to our Lemon Kush mother. The resulting hybrid is the LemonGold Drops, a Indica dominant plant producing high yields and a sweet pungency ranging from earthy to slightly sour.
LemonGold Drops is a sweet, mostly Kushy strain with a complex taste experience, the Lemon Skunk adds a zingy zest to the earthy, apple-caramel tones from the Pot of Gold mixed up with the intense OG taste added by the AK47 clone. This unique combination of terpines gives a full bouquet of sweet, floral, sour and armpit, creates a dense smoke leaving your mouth coated with taste for quite some time after inhaling.
What terpenes give caramel tasting strains their flavour?
These strains' caramel flavour comes from a variety of terpenes, including myrcene, which gives the mix a sweet, earthy base; caryophyllene, which adds spice; limonene, which adds citrus notes; humulene, which adds woodiness; and linalool, which adds sophistication. This blend resembles caramel's layers.
Can hybrids highlight uncommon cannabinoids?
Hybrids can be produced to raise CBG or THCV levels for distinct effects and medical purposes. Cannabis' complicated chemistry is being more understood and appreciated with this concentration on uncommon cannabinoids becoming more common.
Why are South American cannabis strains genetically diverse?
Due to South America's diverse climates and ecosystems, cannabis strains that evolved there are genetically diverse. Due to this variety of environmental conditions, strains from this location can have quite different plant morphologies, potencies, and flavours.
What are the benefits of medium flowering time strains?
The genetic variety of this flowering spectrum offers hybrids that combine the finest of Sativa and Indica features. These hybrids can reportedly both energise and relax, deoending on their genetic makeup, meaning there is something for everyone here!
How have indica strains been used traditionally?
Indica strains were used in ancient medicines and rituals long before they became popular among cannabis users. This strong cultural connection shows indica strains' extensive past in human history.
