Description

Slush Mint Cake is a heavy, modern USA-style cultivar with the sort of creamy, gassy terpene profile that made Cali weed so popular in the first place. Dutch Passion Seeds offers it as feminised seeds, and the appeal is pretty clear: dense white buds, strong flavour, high resin and a potent indica-dominant effect that still keeps a euphoric lift.

The genetics are Slurmint x Ice Cream Cake. The Slurmint mother came from a pheno-hunt of Slurmint IX, itself made from a cup-winning Slurricane and Platinum Kush Mints. Slurricane is also known as Purple Punch x Do-si-dos, a compact and potent USA line valued for flower quality and bag appeal. Antonio’s breeding work behind this release draws on a long-running elite genetics collection and a cup-winning background, and Slush Mint Cake has already taken the 2025 Highlife Cup “Mostly Indica” category.

Potency is a major part of the draw. THC is given at 23–27% on average, with more possible in ideal conditions, while the headline cannabinoid figures also include CBG at 0.44%, CBC at 0.25% and CBD at 0.05%. Total cannabinoids are described as averaging around 30–35% combined, alongside a terpene content around 2–3%. This is not a mild, background sort of smoke.

Cream, candy, gas and sour fruit

The aroma is loud. Slush Mint Cake has a pungent mix of sweet candy, creamy ice-cream, gas and sour fruit, with some plants pushing harder into that stinky, gassy Cali scent and others showing more of the Ice Cream Cake side. Those creamier plants can bring a forest-fruit note into the mix, still with the thick sweet-and-gas character running underneath.

The dominant terpenes named for this strain are linalool, limonene, beta-caryophyllene, humulene and beta-pinene, with fenchol and terpinolene also present in relatively notable amounts. In practical terms, expect a strong-smelling plant and a rich flavour in a vape or joint rather than a light, discreet profile.

Stretchy growth, compact flowers

Slush Mint Cake grows with vigour and has a somewhat stretchy, leggy structure, especially at the start of bloom. Most plants continue stretching for around 2–3 weeks after the switch to 12/12 indoors, and outdoors the early flowering stretch can also last a little longer than expected. The leaves can have longer stems than usual, a typical trait of this line.

The flowering time is usually 8–9 weeks indoors when the climate is dialled in, though some plants may need 9–10 weeks to ripen fully, particularly outdoors or in less-than-ideal indoor conditions. The buds are very compact, bright white, sticky and full of trichomes. They tend to form more as individual flowers along the stem rather than fully closing up into one continuous cola, helped by an average-to-large internode distance.

SCROG is strongly recommended, as Slush Mint Cake responds well to being spread out and controlled. LST or HST can also help manage the stretch. Late in flower, the blooms can become top-heavy enough to bend or collapse, so support nets, yo-yos or rope are sensible rather than optional if the plants are carrying well.

Yields are marked XL. Indoors, around 500 g/m² is described as achievable, with experienced growers using SCROG able to reach around 600–650 g/m². Outdoors in a warm, sunny and dry climate, plants can become large and may yield around 1 kg per plant, especially if they’ve been properly started indoors before the season. The dense flower structure means late bloom needs a dry, well-ventilated environment, around 40–50% RH indoors. It is not recommended for open-ground outdoor growing in colder, wetter northern or southern latitudes because the hard buds carry a higher mould risk.

This is better suited to growers with some experience. It is vigorous, high yielding and capable of excellent flower quality, but it is not described as the easiest or most predictable plant. Growers who can manage stretch, fill a screen and keep the late-flower climate dry will get the best from it.

Strong hybrid effect

The effect is powerful and long-lasting, with a relaxed body stone and a clear euphoric head high. It leans more physical because of the indica-dominant background, but it is not described as automatically sluggish or sleepy when used moderately. Too much can become very heavy, so it makes more sense for experienced users who already know they enjoy high-THC strains.

Slush Mint Cake is a good fit if you want a potent, terpene-rich USA hybrid with creamy candy gas, sour fruit, dense white buds and serious yield potential. It rewards careful handling more than casual growing, but the finished flowers are the whole point here.
