Description
Gorilla Candy TRIPLOID is built around resin, speed and a less common triploid structure. Seed City Bulk Cannabis Seeds offers it as feminised seeds, with a photoperiod flowering cycle and an indica-dominant character. The cross is Gorilla Candy x an elite polyploid selection, with Gorilla Candy bringing Gorilla Glue #4 and Papa’s Candy heritage into the line.
The triploid side is the unusual bit. These plants carry three complete sets of chromosomes rather than the usual two. That greatly reduces fertility, making unwanted seed production after accidental pollen exposure far less likely. It also supports a more uniform crop, with reliable flowering times, dense flowers, strong cannabinoid production and a steady terpene profile.
Growth is vigorous, but not wild indoors when the plants are managed sensibly. Gorilla Candy TRIPLOID forms a robust, well-branched structure, with strong lateral growth in veg and plenty of flowering sites once bloom begins. Indoor plants usually finish at around 80–100 cm when flowering is started at a manageable height. Outdoors, with abundant sun and unrestricted root space, plants can become much larger and may reach two metres or more.
Flowering takes around 45–55 days, roughly seven to eight weeks, which is quick for an indica-dominant photoperiod variety. In suitable northern climates, outdoor plants are ready around the beginning of October. It can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse, with very high yield potential across those settings.
Training suits it well. Topping, low-stress training and canopy management can help open up the many flowering sites to direct light. The branches are sturdy and can carry plenty of flower weight, though support may be useful late in bloom as the buds become heavier. Its predictable shape and fast finish make it approachable for beginners, while the resin output and production potential give experienced collectors plenty to work with.
The flowers are compact, heavy and heavily coated in resin. As they mature, trichomes build across the buds and nearby leaves, giving the plant a pale, frosted look. The dense calyx formation and high flower-to-leaf ratio make the finished buds visually striking and relatively straightforward to trim. Even the smaller surrounding leaves become sticky during flowering, which will appeal to collectors interested in hash-producing genetics and varieties selected for premium extractions.
The aroma is sweet, strong and layered. Candy and confectionery notes sit at the centre, with fresh flowers, warm spice and a smooth earthy base underneath. Creamy tones add richness, while roasted-coffee notes give the profile a darker edge instead of letting it become simple sugar.
The flavour follows the aroma closely. Sweet candy and creamy dessert notes come first, followed by floral spice, earth and coffee on the finish. Some plants may also show subtle woody, nutty or lightly gassy touches from the Gorilla Glue #4 side of the lineage. It’s a full-bodied profile: sweet at the front, then deeper and more savoury as it develops.
Gorilla Candy TRIPLOID produces very high THC levels with low CBD content. The effect starts with a cheerful, euphoric lift that can feel positive and sociable. As it builds, the indica influence becomes clearer, moving into strong physical relaxation and a calm, long-lasting sense of tranquillity. It keeps an uplifting opening, but the overall strength makes it better suited to those seeking particularly potent modern genetics.
The parent roles are clear. Gorilla Candy contributes fast flowering, heavy resin production and the sweet candy-and-coffee flavour. Gorilla Glue #4 adds potency, branching vigour and thick trichome coverage, while Papa’s Candy strengthens the sweet, floral and creamy side. The elite polyploid selection brings the triploid chromosome structure and helps shape a dependable, productive expression of these resin-rich genetics.
