Honey Bear

Honey Bear is a rosin-focused release from Humboldt Seed Company that still has plenty to offer as flower. It’s available as feminised seeds and comes from Honey Banana UKC S1 x Papaya Tallyman x Honey Bear, giving it a sweet tropical profile with a bit of funk underneath.

The name has a real Humboldt story behind it. Honey Bear was named after Den Bear, Dennis, who worked with Humboldt Seed Company for five years at their anchor farm. He was one of the original back-to-the-land growers in Humboldt and, by the breeder’s account, a strong voice for responsible breeding that thinks about growers’ expectations, not just eye-catching claims.

This is a 60% sativa, 40% indica strain, described as strong and energising. The aroma is led by papaya, banana and honey, with the breeder also noting sweet tropical terpenes and a hint of UK Cheese-style funk in the resin. On the flavour side, expect papaya and honeycomb rather than a plain sugary fruit note.

Honey Bear was bred with solventless work in mind. Humboldt Seed Company highlights very high hash production for both solventless and solvent-based extraction, with rosin reported as bright white with golden honey tones. The flowers aren’t described as loose or scrappy either; the plant is noted for striking frosty colas, huge bracts, long resinous tops and very little leaf.

In the grow room or garden, Honey Bear is presented as a big-yielding, upright plant with monster potential. Performance is listed as high indoors and in greenhouse, average in light-dep, and very high outdoors. Flowering time is 45–50 days, with outdoor harvest planning around 15 September to 30 September.
