Origins and Development

The origins of Northern Lights are somewhat mysterious, originating as an indoor strain in the late 1970s near Seattle, Washington, with genetics hailing from California. A mix between a stabilized cannabis sativa and an Afghani indica hybrid, it made its way to Holland as a clone in the mid-1980s. Lacking the ability to be inbred due to its arrival as a clone, it was bred with Skunk No 1 and Original Haze to facilitate seed production. Known for its potent, resinous flowers, Northern Lights is acclaimed for indoor cultivation, though it also thrives outdoors.

Characteristics

Northern Lights is an indica-dominant strain characterized by its small stature and substantial resinous buds. It exudes a sweet taste and induces a physically relaxed state, commonly referred to as ‘couch lock’.
