Introduced after winning 1º Hydro at Spannabis 2007, Black Hemp is a cross between Black Widow and White Widow. It exhibits unique growth characteristics—appearing Indica-like in its vegetative state with broad leaves, then transforming with strong, vigorous growth and narrow leaves akin to Sativas during bloom. Notably, it carries a Haze flavour. To prevent excessively tall plants, it's advised to shorten growing periods, especially indoors by initiating bloom phase immediately with cuttings.
Why are these strains white?
A thick covering of trichomes gives these strains their stunning "white" appearance. These small, crystal-like structures produce THC, CBD, and terpenes, enhancing the strain's scent and potential.
Why do Sativa-dominant strains flower slower than Indicas?
Sativa-dominant strains flower slower than their indica cousins, usually in around 60–90 days. Their sluggish pace reflects their equatorial heritage, where longer growing seasons have moulded their growth patterns.
What does this strain's South American make-up mean for its indica/sativa profile?
Equatorial South American nations explain the abundance of Sativa traits in South American strains. These protracted growth seasons produce towering, narrow-leafed cannabis plants that take longer to flower.
