OG Kush cannabis seeds are a must in the catalogue of any self-respecting seed bank. She's not only one of the most requested strains in California and, therefore, in the entire world, but also the winner of the 'Best strain of all times' title issued by the cannabis bible High Times. In view of such amazing traits, at Dinafem Seeds we were determined to create the best OG Kush ever. The taste, potency and fame of OG Kush were too distinctive and exquisite not to put all our energy and resources into the process. That's why our team of breeders decided to develop our OG Kush by crossing two elite genetics: the exotic Lemon Thai and the legendary Chemdawg. The result is a cannabis plant with very intense and complex organoleptic nuances that many describe as "lemon-scented floor-cleaner with BBQ ashes", and with an extremely potent high caused by her almost 25 % THC content.
Despite there being many theories regarding the meaning of the acronym OG, the most widespread explanation is that they refer to the words “Ocean Grown”, that is to say, grown next to the ocean. Be that as it may, OG Kush is an extraordinarily easy-to-grow Indica-like marijuana hybrid that turns into a mid-sized plant in a remarkably short time. Her being so bushy and branchy makes it necessary to do some pruning if we want to boost her yield. She can also be used as a mother plant from which to obtain lots of cuttings.
OG Kush produces a bunch of dense, thick, resinous and lime-green-coloured buds all over her numerous branches. In fact, this heavy-producer can provide up to 550 g/m2 indoors and some 1100 g/plant outdoors.
One of the reasons why OG Kush is the talk of the town is because of her amazing taste. We could sum it up by saying it’s an explosive mix of hints of diesel, berries and citrus, but we think the words of our collaborator Green Born Identity are far more illustrative. In his grow report, he said that “her fantastic nuggets smell that much like gasoline that one could almost believe that, filled into a car’s tank, OG Kush extraction oil would act as a kind of rocket fuel. However, that citrus subnote is still present as well, making this odour a spectacular overpowering aroma blend that brings tears to my eyes”.
OG Kush provides an incredibly potent buzz, with 24 % THC content and 0.23 % CBD, according to our Lab tests. Her effect is very intense, like a super euphoric physical and cerebral punch. Some describe it like an invigorating 'high' while others think it’s rather narcotic, but they all agree on it being as strong as it's debilitating.
OG Kush is vigorous, resistant and very easy to grow. Her bushy structure makes her a great choice for growing indoors when there isn’t much space available. We strongly recommend using SOG in that case. Outdoors, OG Kush thrives in Mediterranean-like warm climates or under the protection of the greenhouse. In perfect growing conditions, she could easily reach heights of 3 m and yields of 1100 g/plant. OG Kush is also very interesting due to her short flowering cycle, lasting no more than 55 days.
What reported medical benfits are high-THC strains said to have?
High-THC cannabis has been reported to help individuals with persistent pain, nausea, or epilepsy, amongst many other ailments. However, it is said that what works depends on the user, and this shows the need for proper tailored medical advice from a professional.
Is myrcene just responsible for earthy, musky cannabis?
Myrcene is noted for its earthy and musky fragrance, but it can sometimes have a subtle citrus undertone.
Kush strains' physical traits?
Kush strains appear noble with dark green, purple-tinged leaves. Their indica dominance is shown by their tight, compact buds, and anthocyanins give them a purple hue.
How have indica strains been used traditionally?
Indica strains were used in ancient medicines and rituals long before they became popular among cannabis users. This strong cultural connection shows indica strains' extensive past in human history.
Why do some high-yielding strains have long vegetative stages?
A longer vegetative growth period is said to be what helps these plants build a solid structure. This sturdy base is necessary in order to support the weight of their many buds during flowering.
